Turkmenistan’s first full-cycle copper cable production plant has commenced operations in the settlement of Onaldy, Akbugday etrap of Ahal velayat, located 20 kilometers northeast of Ashgabat. The enterprise specializes in processing secondary raw materials — purified copper is obtained from old wires and scrap metal, which is then used to manufacture cable products.

The current capacity of the plant is 10 tons per day. The maximum capacity of the enterprise can reach up to 5,000 tons per year. In the next two months, production is planned to double to 60,000 meters per day.

Turkmen copper cables offer several significant advantages. Their production takes place in Turkmenistan, which minimizes transportation costs and, consequently, allows for a lower price. Furthermore, the presence of a 99% purity mark on the cables guarantees their compliance with quality standards.

The production workshops, with a total area of 4,200 square meters, are located on a 10-hectare site. Over 35 specialists operate equipment from the Chinese company “Ji Cheng Technology”, one of the industry leaders in P.R.C. The entire process is automated and controlled from a central console.

Particular attention is paid to quality: each batch of products undergoes laboratory testing. The cables are characterized by high conductivity — copper is second only to silver in this regard, ensuring efficiency in energy systems.

The plant offers competitive prices, short manufacturing times, and accepts individual orders. Plans for 2026 include launching the production of thick cables.

It is worth noting that previously, cables were purchased from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Türkiye, and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This project is being implemented as part of the state policy of import substitution. Turkmenistan is taking a confident step towards industrial independence and increasing its technological potential.
