During a working visit to the Balkan velayat, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Eisaku Ito, CEO of Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

The head of the Japanese corporation thanked the President for the meeting and noted the importance of industrialization and diversification of the Turkmen economy based on environmentally friendly technologies. Ito also expressed satisfaction with participating in the commissioning ceremony for new facilities and the groundbreaking of an industrial complex in the region.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the long-term nature of Turkmen-Japanese relations, based on principles of mutual respect. “Given the large-scale programs and reforms in the industrial sector and the favorable business environment, there are great opportunities for developing cooperation in new areas,” the President stated.

He expressed confidence that the complex being built in Turkmenbashy etrap will make a significant contribution to strengthening the country’s economic strength. The head of state noted that special attention is being paid to production efficiency, environmental compliance, and the introduction of cutting-edge technologies during project implementation.

A Mitsubishi Heavy Industries representative assured the company of high-quality and timely fulfillment of its contractual obligations. Major Japanese corporations operate in Turkmenistan in the oil and gas, energy, and chemical industries.
