Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to resume direct flights between Ashgabat and Tashkent. The decision was reached during expanded-format talks between Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Monday in Tashkent.

The leaders also discussed joint development of the Turkmenbashi port and the launch of major cooperative projects in the energy sector, including the development of promising fields, according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

Special attention was given to strengthening exchanges in healthcare and medical science.

Following the talks, both heads of state instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive “roadmap” for implementing all agreements reached.
