Under the wise leadership of the esteemed President, Neutral Turkmenistan consistently puts forward initiatives for the development of the sustainable transport system and the strengthening of international cooperation in the world. On the occasion of World Sustainable Transport Day, which is celebrated annually on November 26 in accordance with the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, major celebrations were organized in the city of Turkmenbashi on November 21, 2025.

These significant events were held with great enthusiasm through the joint organization of the institutions and enterprises under the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan and the Turkmenbashi city committee of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan.

The celebration was organized in a festive atmosphere in the conference hall of the “Balkan” shipbuilding and repair yard. During the event, the great contributions of the hardworking personnel of the maritime and river transport system to the development of the transport and communication sector and the strengthening of the economic power of our country were emphasized.

A ceremony for awarding specialists who approach their work responsibly and have labored honestly for many years also took place during the event. This event was remembered as a high-level state assessment and support given to the dedicated work of the laborers.

On the occasion of the holiday, round tables were organized at the Passenger Terminal of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and in the administrative building of “Deňiz söwda floty” YGPJ (Maritime Merchant Fleet Enterprise) with the aim of discussing the importance of sustainable transport policy, exchanging experience, and defining future plans.

During the meetings held, there was an exchange of views on important areas such as the safety of maritime transport, the implementation of the digital system, as well as the strengthening of regional and international trade and economic relations, the expansion of logistics opportunities, and the reinforcement of the role of the maritime fleet.

The conducted events became a clear proof of the steps taken towards the development of the transport system and the achievement of the high goals of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State, under the leadership of the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is worthily continuing the initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
