Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Romania to Launch New Transport Corridor

Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Romania are set to sign an agreement in December 2025 to establish the Caspian Sea – Black Sea international transport route (ITR).

According to press release by Ministry of Economy And Sustainable Development Of Georgia, Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili made the announcement Thursday during the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and Connectivity Development Investors Forum in Tashkent.

The minister said the initiative will create a multimodal transport bridge connecting the Caspian region with the European Union, diversify routes, and strengthen logistics chain resilience.

The second Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and Connectivity Development Investors Forum brought together representatives from EU countries, the Black Sea region, and Central Asia, providing a platform for dialogue on key areas of transport cooperation.
