Turkmenistan proposes declaring 2027 the "Year of CIS Transport Connectivity"

Within the framework of its CIS Presidency, Turkmenistan will propose declaring 2027 the “Year of CIS Transport Connectivity.” This was announced by Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Russia and Chairman of the CIS Economic Council’s Economic Affairs Commission, Esen Aydogdyev, at a commission meeting in Moscow.
“Turkmenistan intends to use its chairmanship to advance initiatives aimed at strengthening economic, transport, and energy cooperation… Particular attention will be paid to the CIS’s logistics potential as a link between the regions of Eurasia, the Caspian, Central Asia, and the Middle East. In this context, Turkmenistan will propose declaring 2027 the ‘Year of CIS Transport Connectivity,'” the diplomat was quoted as saying by the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
According to Aydogdyev, Turkmenistan plans to use its chairmanship to advance initiatives aimed at strengthening economic, transport, and energy cooperation between the CIS countries. The CIS Economic Development Strategy for the Period up to 2030 will serve as the primary guideline for advancing transport cooperation, the ambassador emphasized.
