Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Meets With U.S. Special Envoy Sergio Gor

The National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met Friday in Ashgabat with U.S. President’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia and U.S. Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, Turkmenistan’s official media reported.

The leaders noted the steady development of Turkmen-U.S. relations and expressed interest in further expanding the partnership.

Berdimuhamedov said Turkmenistan views the United States as an important strategic partner and attaches great importance to mutually beneficial cooperation across multiple fields.

The officials highlighted the significance of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s visit to Washington in November to attend the Central Asia-U.S. summit.

The talks reflected satisfaction with progress in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of best wishes.
