Container Traffic Through Turkmenistan Exceeds 21,000 in 2025

27.01.2026

Turkmenistan carried out 21,320 container shipments in 2025, an increase of 10,200 containers compared with the same period last year, the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan said Friday.

Of the total shipments, 10,470 were transit, 6,450 were exports, and 4,400 were imports.

The ministry said the widespread use of container shipments allows for growth in transit, import, and export flows along key international routes through Turkmenistan — North-South, Lapis Lazuli, and East-West — creating additional logistics opportunities for countries in the region.

From January to November 2025, Turkmenistan carried out 19,000 container shipments.
