Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Bayram Bayramov, met Feb. 25, 2026, with the Executive Director for International Relations of Etihad Rail of the United Arab Emirates Tariq Mohammed Al Falahi, to discuss the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.

According to the Turkmen Embassy in the UAE, the projects are aimed at strengthening transport connectivity between Central and South Asia.

Emphasizing the strategic nature of the partnership, the participants discussed coordination of technical cooperation and the preparation of road maps for further collaboration.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of a memorandum of understanding between the railway authorities of Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates, signed on the sidelines of the Global Rail 2025 international exhibition held in Abu Dhabi in October 2025.

The meeting concluded with confirmation of readiness to continue expert-level consultations.

Etihad Rail is the UAE’s national railway project aimed at developing a modern, sustainable and highly efficient transport system linking all seven emirates and extending beyond the country’s borders.
