A thematic event titled “Bridging Continents: Turkmenistan’s Evolving Transit and Logistics Potential” was held in Brussels to discuss the country’s role in developing sustainable and efficient transport connectivity between Europe and Asia, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium said Monday.

The event brought together ambassadors accredited in Brussels, representatives of European institutions, think tanks, business circles, specialized companies and media outlets.

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan presented progress in modernizing the customs system, including improvements in border procedures, digitalization, the introduction of risk management mechanisms and the expansion of capacity at border checkpoints.

Turkmen Ambassador to Belgium Sapar Palvanov addressed participants, describing transport and logistics as key factors in international economic stability and highlighting national infrastructure efforts to strengthen the country’s position as a Eurasian transit hub.

European representatives, including Charlotte Adriaen of the Directorate-General for International Partnerships and European Parliament member Cristian Terheș, outlined growing interest in transport connectivity with Central Asia, the development of the Trans-Caspian Corridor and cooperation in logistics and customs administration.

According to the report, the event served as a platform for dialogue among diplomats, European institutions, experts, businesses and media representatives.
