The 103rd meeting of the CIS Economic Council was held in Moscow
The 103rd meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Moscow.
Along with representatives from other CIS member states, the meeting was attended by the plenipotentiary representative of Turkmenistan in the Commission on Economic Affairs under the CIS Economic Council, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation Esen Aydogdyev.

The members of the Economic Council were familiarized with the results of the activities of the permanent High-Level Working Group on Barriers to Mutual Trade. In particular, issues related to the application of differentiated excise rates, the collection of export duties and the non-recognition of certificates of conformity were considered, requiring comprehensive expert study and multilateral consultations on the CIS platform to make a consolidated decision.
The meeting considered the draft Agreement on cooperation of the CIS member states in the development of civil shipbuilding and production of marine component equipment. The draft document provides for the main areas of cooperation development of the CIS member states, coordination of actions, including the implementation of joint programs and projects, interaction of higher education institutions in the development of programs for training specialists in the field of shipbuilding and production of marine component equipment.
The draft Program for the Development of Cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Field of Study, Use, Protection and Monitoring of Groundwater for the Period up to 2030 and the Action Plan for its implementation were presented.
The members of the Economic Council approved the Action Plan for the implementation of the Agreement on Transboundary Transportation of Radioactive Materials in the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States dated November 6, 2020.
In addition, the participants were presented with the draft Memorandum on cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States member states in the field of digital transformation of the transport complex. It is aimed at expanding and deepening interstate cooperation in the field of digital transformation of the transport complex of the CIS member states, creating the necessary and sufficient conditions for institutional and infrastructural transformations to build a digital transport infrastructure. The next meeting of the Economic Council is scheduled for November 29, 2024 in Moscow.
