Turkmenistan to Boost Gas Production at Galkynysh Field
Turkmenistan aims to significantly increase gas production at one of its largest fields, Galkynysh, as announced by Steven Travers, Director of GaffneyCline Energy Advisory, during the panel session “Natural Gas Monetization – Key Transition and Low-Carbon Fuel” at the 29th International Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition in Ashgabat, according to official Turkmen media on Thursday.
Travers stated, “By 2030, gas production at the Galkynysh field is expected to reach 160 million cubic meters per day, creating new opportunities for economic growth and strengthening the country’s energy security.”
To achieve these ambitious targets, active development of the field will be necessary, including modernization of extraction and processing technologies. Increasing gas volumes will not only improve Turkmenistan’s financial outlook but also enable diversification of export routes, which will play a crucial role in bolstering the nation’s economic resilience.
Investments in infrastructure and advanced technologies will be essential to the project’s success, improving extraction efficiency and reducing environmental risks, Travers added.
Earlier, the company reported that it has developed a seven-stage development plan for the Galkynysh field in collaboration with Turkmenistan’s Gas Research Institute.
