Yesterday in Ashgabat, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan Ravshanbek Alimov.

The parties emphasized the importance of this meeting at the beginning of the year, declared on the initiative of Turkmenistan as the International Year of Peace and Trust during the 63rd plenary meeting of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly on March 21, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

Turkmenistan intends to cooperate with international partners in holding events in line with the spirit of the International Year of Peace and Trust, in particular with Uzbekistan, R. Meredov noted.

The parties also exchanged views on the further development of bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
