In order to maintain domestic and international vessels in good technical condition, \u201cShipbuilding and Shipyard \u2018Balkan\u2019 OJSC offers a wide range of repair services for various types of vessels in accordance with international requirements.<\/p>

Repair rules provide for the application of advanced methods of technical operation and repair, comprehensively carried out according to the system of preventive maintenance, as well as maintenance of all elements of the ship through the established periods in the course of its operation.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Types of ship repair works:<\/strong><\/p>

  • — Lifting of vessels to the dock weighing up to 10,000 tons long — 155\/22<\/li>
  • — Defecting of hull structures with measurements of residual thicknesses and preparation of report documentation;<\/li>
  • — Repair of hull structures: set, planking, decks, platforms, inner bottom, longitudinal and transverse bulkheads;<\/li>
  • — Repairs of the following items: portholes, external doors in superstructures and deckhouses, cabin doors, covers of light and ventilation hatches;<\/li>
  • Cleaning of hulls from old paintwork using sandblasting equipment. Application of new paintwork;<\/li>
  • — Repair of hatch closures of dry and ballast compartments, as well as cargo tanks of oil tank barges;<\/li>
  • — Repair of electrical equipment and cable routes;<\/li>
  • — Repair of residential and service buildings;<\/li>
  • — Repair of life support systems, pipelines and power plant systems.<\/li>
  • — Repair and defection of propulsion and steering complex:<\/li>
  • — Shafting devices (thrust, intermediate, propeller shafts, thrust and support bearings, shaft couplings);<\/li>
  • — Deadwood devices (pipes, bearings, including brackets, seals);<\/li>
  • — Propulsion devices (restoration and balancing of fixed pitch propellers);<\/li>
  • — Steering devices (ballers, baller bearings, nozzles, rudder feathers).<\/li>
  • — Repair of general ship devices and auxiliary mechanisms:<\/li>

    MODERNIZATION<\/strong><\/p>

    Modernization is a way of increasing the efficiency of a vessel.<\/p>

    As a result, a vessel is obtained which favorably differs from the original one in its operational characteristics. Modernization makes it possible to change its class, purpose and dimensions, to increase safety and environmental friendliness of navigation, to postpone or restore the schedule of classification inspections, as well as to extend the life of the vessel. In addition, delivery of spare parts for modern equipment is faster than for obsolete equipment.<\/p>

    — Balkan Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Plant OJSC performs the whole range of works on modernization and re-equipment of ships from development and coordination of technical documentation to presentation of completed works.<\/p>

    Types of modernization works<\/strong><\/p>

    • Re-equipment of vessels into \u201criver-sea\u201d vessels.<\/li>
    • Conversion of dry cargo barges (platforms) into oil tankers.<\/li>
    • Replacement of obsolete main and auxiliary power units with modern ones.<\/li>
    • Construction of a new vessel based on the hull of an operating vessel.<\/li>
    • Re-equipment of vessels in order to change its purpose.<\/li>
    • Installation of new ship mechanisms and equipment.<\/li>
    • Replacement of obsolete radio navigation and control equipment.<\/li>
    • Retrofitting, in order to expand the technical and operational capabilities of the vessel.<\/li>

      Completed Repair Projects<\/strong><\/em><\/p>

      Successful Completion of Dock Repair for the Vessel «Dunya»<\/strong><\/p>

      From August 13 to September 2, 2026, repairs for the passenger vessel «Dunya» (owned by «Nurly Tolkun») were successfully completed in the shipyard’s dock.<\/p>

      Scope of Executed Work:<\/strong><\/p>

      • Hull Cleaning and Painting:<\/strong> Manual cleaning of the underwater hull section as well as abrasive blast cleaning of the topside and underwater hull sides were carried out. Protective coating was applied: 2 coats on the topside and 3 coats on the underwater section.<\/li>
      • Kingston Maintenance:<\/strong> Abrasive blast cleaning and painting of the kingston grates, along with hydraulic pressure testing of the Kingston valves, were completed.<\/li><\/ul>

        All works were finished on schedule; the vessel was launched and is fully ready for operation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
